Looking good. You don't muck around when it comes to getting things done Grandad.
I'll be interested in how your Harley pipe comes along, I've been thinking about sourcing aTriumph peashooter.

I looked at the Enfield ones today actually, a shop in Sydney has the BSA Goldstar replica header and muffler for them.
Might be worth a try, thanks.

See if a jeweller will give it an ultrasonic bath (or see if any bike shops out your way have one, but they'll probably charge you an arm and a leg.
They're brilliant things. I've used big one to clean whole carbs and they've done a brilliant job.

I have a small ultrasonic cleaner, Does anyone know what kind of solvent I should use in it?

I've been cleaning carbs by gently heating them in bottled lemon juice . I found this tip on a Yamaha Triple forum and it brings the carbs up a treat You get some odd looks though buying a dozen bottles in the supermarket heh heh I wonder if it'll work even better in a ultrasonic bath ? LURCH

Hey Huck. Believe it or not I just use some diswashing liquid (the ultrasound bath I use heats the water to 80C).
Just make sure you lubriacte everything when you reassemble the carb.

Sweet! Although waiting for the tank liner to set is no excuse for not starting her up. . . all you need is an appropriate containg connected to the carb with some fuel line
