Here is my inspiration: The idea is not to copy the Borile but end up with something of the similar concept. I will most likely stick with spoked 18" rear wheel and a 19" front (depends on what rear wheel I come across) I've got an early 90's cr250r rear wheel with rotor and sprocket and an 18" rim that I'll see if I can use. The bike will have a 320mm front disc and as well as the mx bike rear disc. I like the ride height of the Borile and will shoot for as close to that as possible. I haven't decided what forks I will be using, probably lowered motocross forks. I am in love with this rear swingarm and will attempt to make one of my own. One of my friends is quite good at modifying gas tanks, so I'll try to find something that we can turn into something like the Deus/Bratstyle skinny tanks. Like this one:

I'll also point out that I have seen the few european supermoto XT500's that are floating around the net. Something about the xt frames just doesn't do it for me, I think it is how far the rear shocks are laid down compared to the SR.

Here is an example of what my friend can do with fuel tanks. The third bike (74 triumph) is his. That tank is actually made from at least two or 3 honda fuel tanks, not sure which ones. He made it while I was here in Germany. I helped him make another one that was simpler. We took a 81 cb650c tank, took an inch and a half from the bottom and 4 inches out of the middle, it's beautiful. I will have to see if i can find pictures of that one too.

Here is the XR right before I parted it out!! I just couldn't live with an electric start only bike. Same concept as the SR that I want to build

You could call it a cafe racer with too much suspension or a supermotarded cafe bike!

Go to the image gallery and look for "Colombian XTs" I know you don't like XTs, but its worth a peek.

I've seen lots of the south african and dutch XTs as well. Not a fan of the mono-shock converted or any other extended swingarm on the XTs. Came across this bike the other day, possibly my favorite so far

The bigest thing i find with the look of motard 500s is that they look too raked out and long in the forks. Shorten the forks up and pull the rake in a bit and they look sweet. I have had a hankering for a 500 motard for quite a while now, just need to keep on collecting parts i guess.

Was browsing some flattrack forums and found out it's not very difficult to derake these frames.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just fit a bit longer rear dampers? It would balance the height and pull the rake back in. Alot easier than cutting a frame. The only downside is that your C/G will go up but, if that were an issue, the long forks wouldn't be there to begin with as it has gone up with them.

Not too crazy about bending the spine of the frame or building a proper jig good enough ($$$$$) to re angle the neck. I'm looking for more height than a regular SR anyways. Afterall, I may use an XT as a base, depends on what I come across and what I can afford at the time.
