That maroon cafe` one looks OK but I bet its still a dog to ride& nothing will fix that only a crushing recycling plant then the furnace! The things went for years as long as the alternator didn't go on it as it was a mission to replace . And those mags yekk & coz of the shaft drive its a mission to change too .The front forks & mudguard may fit a SR so it all may not be bad cheers Dave.

And those mags yekk & coz of the shaft drive its a mission to change too That's an ok price to pay for a shaft-drive - oh how I miss my old shaft drive! As with the CX the Kwaka GT550 was hailed as an ugly bike by friends and partner when I got, and now - due to its performance in the realm of easy-going distance touring - it is well missed. By the end we all loved it; such a solid muscley bike. I took it down to Phillip Island (of GP fame) at night in a storm with gale force winds two-up. We were kept solid and safe despite the efforts of the unholy winds to upturn us, and that spotlight up front turned the evil black night into day. Once you experience their virtues their looks grow on you.

Funny, my girlfriend was looking through a bike magazine because she's thinking of getting her licence and whammo... "Don't mind the look of that"
CX500.
Gotta laugh!

Im thinking it has something to with them running a 22 front rim and not a 21.As far as using a dirt bike tire on the front.
