If it were me I'd go the conti - the only fella I know to be hassled by the cops over exhausts is my mad mate Eddy, who decided to saw his exhausts off...his CD250 is louder than any of the big bikes we ride with! He gets a yellow canary about every four months! Other than that they (the cops) seem to let you be down here (mind you it doesn't hurt to flick up into a higher gear when you pass them!).

Haha, I don't know Matt - Stew's muffler is pretty loud! I'm thinking about the Peyton place stuff with a header. It'll take me a while to get the Conti, and then i'll have to make up, or have made up a new mount for. Just a wee bit of stuffing around that puts me off. The main thing stopping me for jumping right on the peyton place mufflers is the stamped "Peyton Place" down the side. Here's where i was this morning... swingarm fitted but yet to break several tools before finally getting the bloody muffler off! That's pretty much where i am at the moment. I've got to sort out a spacer for the rear wheel now the swingarm is on - there's an inch and a half or so on the old chain adjusters that needs to be compensated for now they're gone. Then to pick a muffler. Speaking of which - any opinions on the following - or... My favourite was this one - But it looks like it'd collide with my rearsets. Bugger. 'Spose one day i'll pillion someone and i'll the gorgeous pale busty redhead who hitches a lift with me will thank me for it.

Haha, but was it loud enough!

This one had a good sound, but friendly enough that when you come home after 10pm, not every nieghbour wants to kill you
It might have removable baffles/packing anyway if you want more

That's the one!
It does discolour quite a bit though, doesn't it? Still, part of the charm i suppose!
Cool bike too. Goes to show no two customised SR's are the same. Do you have any contact details for Geoff, Stew? I wouldn't mind giving him a call to see what he thinks of it. (PM me!)
Is anyone a fan of the pipe with the upwards bend, or is that just me?

I'm a fan of the Peyton up pipe too Marlon! Not sure about their big logo all over it though...
What about the under pipes that WM do? Has anyone had any experience with them?

No experience on the WM pipes, but i'll say that if their pipes are as good as their rearsets (the only other item of theirs i have experience with) i'd say they were bloody good.

Hi marlon, geoff here.
I'm really happy with my PP muffler (OK the PEYTON PLACE script is a bit poncy but everything else is cool). It's the SP-001 version you pasted into an earlier post on this thread. I also have a PP header pipe, both ex-VANEM.
I looked closely at the upswept version (very cool) but it would have meant no pillions. Mine sits sweetly with the PP rearsets and pillion pegs.
I would class the sound as 'barely legal' and IMHO is loud enough without upsetting the neighbours (too much, anyway).
What I can tell you is the thing gets REALLY hot. I melted the leg of my new textile riding duds onto the pipe at the KVR. Since SR took the picture I have taken a leaf out of Curly's book and applied some heat wrap to the muffler/ header junction. The pipe does discolour, but my experience is that all SS pipes do to some extent.
Happy to field queries via PM.
ps, the swingarm looks great!
Cheers,
G

Nothing a bit of gaff and No8 wire can't fix.
