Hi Chums--I have just joined, I'm in Western Australia, I'm picking the SR500 up this afternoon, it's has wire wheels and twin leading drum brake at the front is that standard, seller said in was 1985? dose that sound right?--Barry

Welcome to the forum. I am in NSW. Got a 1984 SR400, wire wheels and disc front. Double check parts as mine is a mix of 500 and 400 parts.

Hi Peter --Thanks for the welcome, I think it's a 1985 "Classic" also it has 18" wheels, may be a private import from Japan, no compliance plate, I had a SR500 about 20 years ago and this one is a lot different--Barry

Hi, sounds about right for a Japanese market 1985 model. You can look up the frame number here: sr500forum.boards.net/thread/2910/link-sr-frame-identification-chartand see what exact year/model it is (or started life as, if it's been modded,) but drums both ends were most common around that time so could be original from the factory. That's a real good front brake!!
