Greetings, I have acquired a very rusty 1980 SR500 in the what I call eggplant purple color. Its a nice color!
The side covers and seat fairing are fine but the tank has to be redone. Has anyone made an attempt at matching this color? Is there a color coade for the system used in this color scheme? it looks like might be a 2 stage - metalic and clear coat. I did some research and found the 1980 SR500G was "NRR" New Ruby Red code 007J. But I think that refers to a very "RED" 3 stage Kandy type job, not this dark purple. Any help or guidance is appreciated. It is titled as a 1980 but the sticke on the downtube states late 79, if that helps. It is a 3H1- bike.
