Well - joined the site a few days ago. I have become the proud owner of Serena - a 1979 SR400. I bought her for the princely sum of a pint of Guinness!! The bike was bought by my wifes cousin in 2000 for a trip he had to the UK from WA, Australia. It has been from John O Groats to Lands End, East to West and to Norway. Not forgetting a few trips to the TT in between. For the last 3 years she has been mothballed, but this week we put in fresh fuel, a new spark plug & she started after the second kick!! My plans are - to get her looking like new again, in her previous life she has been re-bored to a 500cc, but needs some TLC. I have initial pics here www.flickr.com/photos/serena2008/Hope this link works - if not I will try something else. Not sure how (if anything) differs from the stock SR500. But all comments will be gratefully received...

Welcome Bertman and Serena. Incredible the number of miles she's accomplished! I really like the custom seat. That should be well worth restoring and you can't beat the price. Cheers,
dave

Now that is a nice bike, similar to what I see Serena looking like. Do you have any other info or pictures - not to copy but to get inspiration!!!
Thanks,
