So, besides the '78 RM125 swingarm fitting the SR, what other aluminum arms will fit? Even if it is a single shock arm. Welding shock mounts for twin shocks isn't that big of a deal.
Isn't the Radian swingarm steel?

For my uses though, the Radian arm is stiffer than a stocker but still looks neat when painted up a nice silver. G Man

XT600, type 43F is what's in my XT. You'll have to shorten the cross tube (I mean the one carrying the bearings), to make it fit the frame, perhaps turn an alu-tube to fill the gap left for the XT600 crankcase and weld on some shock mounts. Although, you may have seen the pics before. They belong to Trouthunter. Here is the thread: sr500forum.proboards38.com/index.cgi?board=projects&action=display&thread=1679G Man

Thanks for the link. I was really thinking along the lines of various OEM swingarms. I know about the Troutarm ;D and most of the other vintage TT aftermarket arms (Whitebros, Hallman, etc).
The XT600 is one I didn't know about. Probably about as hard to find as a WB arm.

Solo, any of the YZ arms. The pivot is the same size and the top of the arm is in line for the shocks. Send me your e-mail address and I,ll send you some photos of different arms. Curly

Overall, I would have to say yes. Dual purpose bike generally don't do all that well here. I can't ever remember seeing one. I think it was sold here for only 2-3 years. About the same length of time the SRX600 was sold here.

I thought I'd already posted this, but can't find it no more... ...o.k., what I wanted to tell is that one of the nicest swingarms ever comes from the old Kawa KLX250. It's a twinshock-type, very light, made of forged(!)aluminium bars in a unique design. Fits the SR/XT/TT frame quite well, here's a photo: Regards Sven
