Hi, Just want to say hi to everyone on the forum. I'm Kit from Hong Kong and i currently have a 99' SR400. I've been browsing the forum for a while now and find it very informative and friendly... We still get current SR400's from Japan, and there's plenty of parts we can order... stock and aftermarket... just let me know if anyone needs any help, I'd be glad to do so!!! www.klutta.com/08-04-15_SR400.jpg <--Pic of my bike Cheers, Kit

Kitson, I have a Supertrapp muffler just like yours with the flat cover on the back of it on my SR500. On Sunday I spend all afternoon working on it, changed the oil, put 2 more discs in the Supertrapp so it sounds better and replaced the corroded connector that goes to the tail light and turn signals. On Sunday when I rode up to the computer swap meet I thought it was a lot louder than before on the freeway for some reason. When I got home I found why it was louder, the whole center section of the back cover blew out of the Supertrapp! It had a steel cover and normally has a cast aluminum cap with the Supertrapp logo molded into it over the steel cover but I thought it should be able to hold together by itself since the cast aluminum cap is just for decoration. I had a little hole drilled in the center to make it easier to test emissions every year so I never put the aluminum cap back on. I removed the remains of the old steel cap and put a curved stainless steel cap on so now it's back to normal again.

Hi Stevec5000, I got my pipe installed by the tuner and I haven't really play around with it. But one thing i notice is that mine is call "SUPERSOUND" and comes from JAPAN.. I'm pretty sure is made by the same factory. On idle, it doens't really sound loud at all.. but when I rev it to around 5-6000 rpm, it sounds sooooooooooo sweet. I'm guessing the middle fell out from too much vibration.. hahah.. take a pic and show me if possible.. I haven't seen anyone else using this pipe on the SR. Nice meeting you! Cheers! Kit

Hey welcome! I'm going to be in HK for work next fall. I'd love to see what the HK SR scene has to offer. If you're interested we could meet for a drink and talk about bikes.

Hi there! I'm also coming to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks - could you suggest any shops or places to get aftermarket parts for SRs? I'll be staying in Causeway Bay for about 8 days and have some time to look around, and luckily have got an understanding partner :-)

I'll be staying in Causeway Bay for about 8 days and have some time to look around, and luckily have got an understanding partner :-) Hi.. you'll have to travel a bit to get parts.. actually.. it's not too bad. just across the harbour to the kowloon side. Sorry, I know it's in chinese.. but you can always print it out and show the people. Ricoland - This place have ALL the aftermarket PARTS.. especally for the SR. However, you might have to order as they don't have all items in stock. . .but they probably have the most out of all the shops. ( I get my stuff from here).. they only have 1 shop now, it's in Choi Hung, Kowloon. Go to their web and look at the map. Taxi is the easiest. if not, take the MTR to Diamond Hill Station, then it's just a 5 mins walk away. Look for Connie. Bring a chinese speaking friend! www.ricolandhk.com富力電單車行香港有限公司(新蒲崗) 地址:九龍彩虹道地下220 A鋪 電話:28909738 MotoMart - This place have ALL the GEARS ... helmets, gloves, jackets, pants, etc.etc.. it's in Tau Kwa Wan area. Take taxi from Tsim Sha Tsui (about 10 mins away if no traffic). Again, bring a chinese speaking freind... www.motomartco.com/e/default_home.asp車迷城有限公司 香港九龍土瓜灣下鄉道5-19號A舖及一樓全層 電話 : +852 2362 0388 +852 2384 7478 +852 2328 6684 Tuesday to Sat: 11:00am - 8:30pm Sunday : 1:00pm - 7:00pm Monday Close These 2 are pretty much all you need. all the other ones are all over the place and are tiny shops. www.ibike.com.hk has most of the shops' links. Cheers, Kitson

Just a little trick on the Supertrapp end caps to keep them where they belong is to safety wire all the screws to each other. 12" of safety wire is cheaper than replacing an end cap and how ever many discs you have.

I've never had any of the screws come loose but the bike originally had one of the old style black Supertrapps on it with one bolt through the center that held the end cap on and all the discs in place. One morning when I was driving to work the bolt rusted through and when it broke the discs all came flying loose and flew all over the highway!
