Anybody have this problem...? Sitting still, or at slow speed, my turn signals work. As I get up in speed, they turn 'on' without blinking. When I get off the highway, I get my blinking signals back...

Not quite the same but mine don't flash untill the revs rise over say,....2000 rpm, then they flash fine. After it's been run for a bit they'll flash at any revs, just slower. If i figure out what the problem is i'll put it up here and see if it works for you too. If you figure it out can you tell me?

Has someone replaced your original flasher with an electronic unit? Some of those are noise-sensitive (electrically speaking) and can do weird things. Try substituting a mechanical or orig Yamaha flasher if so.

I was wondering if the flasher had something to do with it. Does anyone have a photo of an original item? Where is it located? It has to be that i reckon cause the indicator light on the tacho is just as intermittent.

If its any help - the original flasher units rely on having a certain amount of current running through them to work properly. Other than making sure there are no breaks in the wiring, you must have two things right - the system voltage and the load. So the battery has got to be connected and properly charged (around 14V), and you must have the right size bulbs. I think the indicator bulbs are 23 watts each, and the little bulb in the tacho is 3 watts. Therefore you must draw (49/14 = 3.5) about 3.5 amps through the can to make it work properly. Mick

I got a used flasher that I'm going to try. I'll also check that the battery is charged, and see if there's any difference.

Hi, As an aside to this subject...one of our ACT SR riders has fitted a Posh battery eliminator. My past experience of these types of devices has shown that the indicators, lights etc. work very poorly at idle and low revs. Not so with this little unit. It works beautifully, with the indicators, lights etc. running nicely. I am going to get myself one of these things. SR

Sounds good Stew, I was always concerned about that with eliminator, as you blinkers most when slowing down for a corner/intersection........but since my blinkers currently don't work anyway, why not.
Where do those ones come from?

Well, my slow indicators have just become right slow only. I'm gonna try changing the flasher and if that doesn't work i'll always have a spare. Problem is i can't find it! Where is it?

Hi, The Posh battery eliminators are from Japan...try Deus or Vanem...they seem to be really good. I am going to get one for the new bike to see how it goes. Probably shoukld start up a thread on it... I will when I get mine. Adrian can you get these??? SR SR

Hi Stew,
well i dont get them any more, we were using the POSH eliminators for a while but found that they are not as good as the Daytona eliminators. Firstly the wiring is quite thin which is not great for the job it is trying to do, and the way it comes out of the unit where they are moulded tend to crack over time. But this is just my veiw, I will take a picture of one i have here that i took off a bike last week to show you what i mean if you like. The good thing about them is they are a good size to fit in tight places. They are ok, and do the job ok...

Ah OK...I was impressed with the way that everything worked more of less normally once the engine was idling once the Posh one was installed. Do the Daytona ones do this as well? I have seen too many that let it all die at low RPM. SR
