Here are a couple of pics of one of my SRs with a Staintune (stainless) Conti replica fitted to the stock header...a little loud, but it looks OK... SR

I think it looks great - keeps the fantastic original lines of the bike.
How do you keep your header so clean Stew!?!?

Sweet. Loud like neighbour-defined Loud or RTA-defined Loud? How much trouble was it to get the bracket to mount it behind the rearset?

No, just a change of mixture setting and that was it. I made the bracket that sits behind the frame tubing. It is bolted to the rubber mount for the standard pipe and comes forward to the Conti mount flange. I had to modify (file) the front of the stainless Conti mount to clear the rear of the brake pedal where the pinch bolt is. Being stainless that's not a big deal and it just polished back up to shiny again... As for the noise...well it's not really noisy...heh, heh, depends on you measure of sound... SR

I was coming back from the annual SR500 Rally at Bethanga last November...that was taken at Thredbo in the Snowies...still a small amount of snow there in November! You guys should come down to it, it's good fun and pretty laid back. Curly did and his bike was next to mine at the time that upper pic was taken...the other pic was taken on an ACT classic bike club ride... Coming to the KVR? SR

Autosol eh? I'll have to remember that. And I ain't wrapping my header again!
Fiasco da Gama, I think it's somewhere between piss the neighbours off and RTA defined loud. For some reason I've found that most coppers don't feel the SR is an offensive kind of loud, like a I4. They must have class too!

Thanks for the link. I was looking for your part number because there are one or two shops that sell "staintune" here in the states.

I don't have a part number unfortunately...still they should be fairly simple to find. Staintune pipes are an excellent product that virtually will last forever...well more or less. Any blemishes and you can polish them out and re-buff the outside. SR

On a stock engine these are good ,but loose out over 5,000 rpm over say the harley shot gun muffler, but also don't throw flames like the harley muffler and consequently attract the law..... and a defect sticker,....the conti was good.
