Anyone have a Supertrapp exhaust they might want to sell or know where I can get one? I took my exhaust off today and when I looked into the header pipe, I realized that the inner wall was coming apart and slightly blocking the exhaust flow. Sheesh... had no idea.

The exhaust I use on my 79 SR is a universal Harley-Davidson Supertrapp can along with a single walled header pipe that I think was made by White Bros, performance parts. The Supertrapp has a mounting bracket that you weld on wherever you want it. I don,t know if White Bros still make header pipes for the SR, mine is really old. Some European and Australian companies make them though.

Hey Bronson: I fired off emails to Kedo in Germany and Thumperstuff in the US. Neither have returned any replies. I explored around looking for other suppliers, I was un-able to find any. As I work in a Yamaha dealership, I finally decided to go ahead and back order an original one through Yamaha. Should be in anytime now. Talk to you soon, G Man

Well, as I posted earlier I was in need of a new header pipe. I have had no time or interest in building one from scratch. I attempted to order aftermarket ones with no success. Finally, I found a kit number which I special ordered through Yamaha Canada. (I work at a Yamaha dealership) It is a little pricey, but when you have few options price doesn't matter too much. Anyhow, after I figured exchange, shipping, customs and brokerage fees, it wasn't really any more expensive than aftermarket ones. I swapped this kit pipe in place of my stock one. Identical piece. They only call it a kit because it comes with a new gasket and studs. If anyone's interested, the part number is 999990310400. You could expect to pay about $230.00 Canadian. You should be able to put it on order through your dealer. The part would be back ordered from Japan. Mine only took a couple of weeks to fill the back order. That's shipped to Canada.

Hey G-Man, is the header pipe that you describe a single-wall pipe? (free-flowing)

Hi Canucksr: No, the pipe is a direct replacement double walled pipe. Just as original. With the reverse cone muffler I run, I think the bike runs hard and sounds fantastic! This pipe should last another couple of decades! Talk to you soon, G Man
