Does anyone know if I can bolt an '81 clutch on to my '78 SR? Did they change anything over the years?

Stoo, the clutch's are all the same you can even use an XT/TT clutch just dosen't have the outer band on the basket. Curly

Carl,
I don't want to dispute what you have said, but I have a XT500 cover on my SR500 racer (so I could use points ignition), and I am certain that I still have the std SR clutch (fitted with Barnett plates and springs).
It is a long time 2 - 3 years since I have had the cover off and I know my memory is fading as I get older, but I am sure it is the SR clutch. I hate it when I have mixed & matched between my engines and loss track of what is in/on which engine.
