Is a '77 XT500 head the same as my 1978 XR500 (oops I meant SR500)?
Just in case I can't get the stuck exhaust valve out of my head. I have already snapped it off, and now have only the stem to work with.

hi strick how you doing?o.k i take it you meant sr500? if so the inlet valve is bigger than the xt head.just a thought you could gently warm the head up in the oven and remove the valve guide complete with the siezed valve stem with it,you might consider renewing the guide anyway if its 'picked up' and got damaged.dont forget a new guide will want reaming out to the size in the manual.hope this helps.

The SR head bolts straight on. and as Andy says, should have "2J2" written on the bottom of the inlet valve.
