Hello everyone, As you may recall I had a small mishap on my way back from Sturgis this past summer and now that I have the bike back (what is left of it) and my collar bone is now mostly Titanium. I am ready for a rebuild. The old girl was stripped to the frame and it was sent out for repair as the steering head was slightly bend. This should be back in about a week or so. I want to replace the oil pressure and return lines coming to and from the frame reservoir to the engine. Would anyone recommend simply buying a new set from Yamaha or going to steel breaded hoses? If so any supplier in mind. The front forks are toast, I found a set of xs650 i am rebuilding. No problems there. I've also found a headlight assembly and I going to purchase from Vanen the gauges and more than likely the gas tank also. Here is a link to some of pictures, work in progress... soggypastaracingteam.blogspot.com/

I would get an oil line that runs to the exhaust rocker or to both rockers rather than the stocker. Stock should be ok for the return line . Very interesting web page. www.thumperstuff.com/SRXTTT.html

Hi, I've so far not replaced these on any of my SRs...might be better to use parts of the original lines and have those fittings grafted onto braided ones if you really wanted to do it...I guess the thing to ensure is that the metal braid won't rub against the engine anywhere. Stainless and alloy...stainless wins I am having new braided ones made for my new cafe racer as I am fitting an oil cooler...you can get alloy fittings to go into the top of the engine (return line) that takes a hose, and I have seen photos of Japanese aftermarket ones for the engine pressure inlet point as well...Vanem...Deus... Might be simpler to fit new original ones... ...heh, heh... SR
