Hi, I just cleaned my chain. & thinking about replacing it & the sprockets in a few months
I'm at 100 links 44 rear 14 front. With the side car it climbs hills fine without overheating, but can't go past 78mph. Would 15 or 16 in the front make it harder to go uphill or would it even it out. I'm thinking 17 might be too weak uphill and then I wouldn't be able to use oring chains.
Would a 530 set be the strongest for the rig and the added weight?

I agre with you on the 17 not being strong enough for the uphill pull. Not sure about your speed's where you are, but if its pulling 78mph uphill with a sidecar on it with no real dramas, I'd be inclined to leave it as is.
