I have a new cam and springs on the way for my motor and will complement these items with new rocker arms. Who supplies the improved type??? Or are the resurfaced ones o.k to use??motor has oil feed to both rocker shafts.

Sjef I have recently bought a set of rocker arms for my SR . I believe there are 2 types 1 has a oil hole on the surface that contacts the cam (the ones I've got ) the other has as thick pad on the surface that contacts the cam but on this arm theres No oil hole , surely Yamaha wouldn't supply the older type when theres a newer, improved version ,would they ? I feel a bit miffed as the parts cannot be returned as I've had them in my parts bin for over 3 months & my dealer/Yamaha only allows returns before 90 days LURCH

Hallo lurch, the latest has a hardend steel pad on it., Yamaha delivers what ever you order. the pre 84 rockerarms are ment to be used with the pre 84 yamaha cams, all the later cams are hardened and need a hardened rockerarm to avoid extra wear. talk to your dealer anyway may be you gave him the right numbers and he has made a mistake . my experience: they ask you about the year of make of your vehicle , you answer politely and than they order the parts for that year of make. not always the parts you have in mind best regards sjef
