Well, my top end (possibly full motor) rebuild is close to becoming a reality.
After some other distractions, job issues, family, servicing the Airhead etc etc and weighing up my best option, I could be back road rego'd in the new year
SO.....what to do for the top end? Going off similar threads, I'm thinking a 540 Wiseco.
I just want a street-able motor, reliable, not looking for any massive ponies.
suggestions welcome here, particularly if anyone thinks I should upgrade something while I'm there (I predict I'll need new valve seats etc, should I get some new rocker arms etc). I'm a novice with this end on things, and a shop will be doing it for me as I don't have any opp's to "risk it" myself at them moment.
Some other threads in Fuel and Electrics related to this aswell...
Thanks in advance.....

Hallo Milkman, if you want to keep it stock, do so . on the other hand if things are worn or broken you might consider an upgrade. new valve seats why not something bigger ? worn cylinders/liner why not something bigger?etcetera etcetera. There is no end in that. so make up your mind first and stick to it the only real improvement quality wise are the rockers and camshaft, the after 1984 year of make are of a much better quality meaning less wear.
regards sjef

Just make sure you don't make yourself dependent on high octane fuel by running some ridiculously high compression ratio. Mick

Good advice thanks lads Definitley not looking to go too high comp. Just trying to stay "stockish:" but as Sjef suggests, if something needs it, why not a bit bigger, better etc.
My speedo has 70,000kms on it, and it stopped working a while ago. so I think I'd like some new rocker arms, dual oil feeds, and make it around 540cc.....
Mayeblioek what hopwheels did.....
