I've got this Baja Gear Dipstick/Thermometer that looks like a meat thermometer. I'm wondering where the acceptable range is on it. Does this dot have any meaning? or is this pattern more than just what looks like could be some kind of stain that wont come off... Anyone have anything like this?

Hi, I meant a useful operating range of 80 - 110...as you can see the max range on the Daytona gauge is 200 C... SR

I've got one from Thumperstuff that is about the same. The mark could be the "full" oil line. Put it beside the stock plastic dip stick and see how that mark lines up with the markings from it.
My thermometer has a red zone starting at 250 degrees.

Back again, That's 176 F (80 C) to 230 F (110 C); with a max range of 392 F (200 C)... SR

i was actually looking for oil levels as a dipstick... I dont have the stock dipstick, so i have nothing to measure against. could someone perhaps measure their stock dipstick from the bottom of the threads or something to where the correct oil levels are? That'd be awesome. Thanks.

The stock dipstick is 5 1/2 inches long. Oil level should be about 3 - 4 inches below the top of the filler neck.
