Hi All- Just stripped my SR500 down, the valve stems have been hammered badly, they are concaved about .5mm on some bikes they have a limit that you can grind them, (they are close to the collets already, the top surface that is) also all the collets have a mark on the inner arc is this normal. thanks in advace for any replies Barry

Mate a fellow sandgroper , you're the first one I've come across on the forum! Sounds to me you may need to replace a few parts (thats the problem when you do strip the motor) where do you stop & how much coin you gotta spend ! Get a good manual that will help with most jobs to be tackled . If something doesn't look right usually its not . There is some good info on the Porcshe tappit upgrade on this site too . I've only had this SR for 2 years I purchased it off a dude in Wanneroo for the right price in a lot of bits but licenced but mechanically it seems OK so I aint fixin nothin if it aint broke cheers from Dave in Dunsborough .
