hey i changed the oil in my bike for the first time a month or so ago with 10W-40 semi-synthetic oil and ive just read in my manual it should take 20W-40 or 20W-50....whats the difference? should i go change it now? will it bugger my engine if i dont change it?

please help......

Basically your oil will be less viscous when cold ie runnier. Probably a good winter oil for Scotland, but I'll let the guys who know more about it answer you better
