I've noticed a faint amount of smoke in my exhaust- not even enough to see a color. Not like it's bright blue smoke or anything, but I think there's a little oil coming through the system. I started the bike with the pipe facing a whitewall the other day, and after a few minutes of warming up I noticed the black specks on the wall.
I have a good feeling my jetting is off, and I have not done a plug read- I just noticed the smoke yesterday while looking over my shoulder, so I have not dug into it yet, but I wanted some opinions as to what I could be facing. Could it just be that I need a slightly different jet, or could my rings be going bad?

Hi robo, I think i know what you mean, sort of more like a haze than definite smoke. It sounds like youre running a bit ( a lot?) rich. modern fuel, in australia anyway, leave a lot to be desired, and dont make it any easier to anylyse plugs etc. As a rule blue smoke means oil is being burnt as part of the fuel/air mixture. If their isnt any real change in your engines usual performance, then worn rings are probably a long way down the list of could be's. Cheers Franky b.

Cool Franky, thats kinda what i was thinking. I should a added the detail about my new pipe. I never rejetted after I installed it, so I'm sure it's just jetting.
