Was coupling some parts together today to build a engine for my old XT. Now this bike is nothing special and i was just using what was laying around.I had a good barrel and piston from a SR and was going to couple this onto the XT bottom end. All was well until i went to put the piston on the rod and found that the gudgen pin was to short for the piston? On closer inspection i saw that the SR piston is much wider across the gudgen boss compared to the recessed XT one. Dont know if its common knowledge or not but live and learn i guess.Anyway found a half decent xt piston and threw it all together. Will put the engine back in the bike in the next few days and give it a run, hopefully will give me a good offroader for the forest trails over winter. COOL..

Hi, Yes the dirt bike engines have shorter gudgeon pins. As I recall Wiseco uses their pins in their pistons... SR
