Hi Does anyone know how the heck you get these screws undone ?? There on the retaining plate that covers the bearing for the gearbox output shaft (sprocket) This is the second set of cases that I've "screwed" up they appear to be locked in with some sort of white colored cement The first time I used a impact driver but the heads just snapped off Second time started with impact driver then rocked the screw back & thro while using a heat gun, but the threads were incredibly tight & eventually the screws snapped again This is one of those jobs that you think "I'll just change it while its apart then wished you hadn't of bothered " Thanks Guys LURCH

Hallo lurch,
replace the screwhead by (tig)welding.try to turn it out after welding and /or heat the case till about150 degrees celsius. and try again. this should do it.
good luck, sjef

Thanks for the advice sjef, but I've "chickened out"of trying to get the rest of the screws out I was going to strip the engine cases completely before having them bead blasted & powder coated but as the bearing seems to be in good condition I have decided to use PJ1 Hi temp aerosol paint on the crankcases .Ill give them 4 coats ,should be tough as nails .err I hope Thanks again LURCH
