Hey Fellas! Oh, the amount of tidbits and bling and bits and peices you can get for a SR400/500. To be honest, everytime I have a look through a japanese catalogue, see the talk on the forums and hunt around Vanem fast parts, my mind boggles. I've come across this... "Twin Oil Line by OMC "This twin oil line kit features stainless lines that are coated in neoprene for improved durability and protection from the elements. They are fitted with Earls stainless fittings to keep the connections tight and leak free. The original Yamaha oil line supplies oil only to the exhaust side of the cylinder head. This twin oil line kit by OMC sends oil to the intake and exhaust rockers at the same time which improves lubrication and cooling of the oil. This will reduce wear and protect your engine. An invaluable modification" www.vanem.com.au/Engine.htmSo, in theory it makes sense to me, but is it worth the $329.00? All opinions would be appreciated!

At $329 it is hard on the pocket.I did this mod on one of my engines with a bit of clever machining and some silver soldering of tubbing. Has not got the bling value of the above kit but does the same job and cost me nothing.

I have a similar oil line setup sjef... from eBay seller "biebo" in Germany. Very reasonable $. The modification is a good one to do Marlon from what I understand. Even a single line kit that at least gets the oil over to the exhaust side of the rocker box is good. I've seen those used, from time to time on eBay as well.

Hi Marlon, if you want pretty, then i guess the price is justified. If you want functional with a nice tidy finish and a perfect fit, then get a set of lines from mark at thumper stuff. I got a set from him for under 100 dollars aus at my door. Every thing you need is supplied, good quality plated finish on the banjos, and a nice braided black nylon sleeve on the lines. In my opinion, excellent value and quality, and if youre only going to do one mod to your motor, then this should be it. Cheers Franky b.

I put a splitter in the line that goes up to the head and bought a second banjo fitting for the intake side. It cost me about $10.00 and it works well.

Hi all,
Have never posted before but I feel i have to warn anyone using the twin line from Biebo in germany mine failed last week after less than 500km. The innner rubber hose failed total breaking down and was weeping oil everywhere, luckly I wasn't far from home but what a mess. Only realised when I stopped and put my foot down and slide out. End result one very sore knee, busted mirror & lever and bruised ego. Hopwheels please change yours I wouldn't want to have to clean the same mess as me on that polished engine of yours.

Hey Curly... dang that sucks! Thanks for the info! Interesting enough, I had a small leak in one of mine (biebo supplied) after only a few miles. Thought it was simply defective, and swapped it out for a second set I bought fomr him. I'm curious, since it appears that the lines are what is failing, couldn't you simply have a couple short lines made froma reliable source and run a dual banjo bolt at the lower location and use the rocker cover connectors in biebo's kit?
