Hi Stew,
well at the moment it still looks like blue, although i waiting untill an order turns up for me this week which might have some Black fittings in it for another customer, he said he does not care about the colour so I will wait to see (I thought black wont be so bright for you). How soon do you need to have the fittings? I was probably going to bring them back to Aus rather than send them as just about all orders out of Japan have left except several that are not going back to Aus. Heading to Montegi circuit in the morning to the Honda museum, by the looks of the exhibition list it will be great!

Well i dont want to depress you! but i just got home after a long day!!!! Motegi was with out a doubt the best Moto museum i have seen in the world!!! I worked in Motorsport and with Porsche for 14years so have been to most exhibitions on the planet but nothing like the Honda collection!!! Got so many pics my camera almost overloaded!!! So many perfectly restored bikes and cars from the 40's through to present day... what can i say, it has made a hard busy trip worth while, worth seeing!!!! The whole complex is unbelievable, and there was an air show to boot! (mind you the first air show they had when the circuit opened they had a fatality but all good today!)

In responce to part two of the original posting, as all the bearings in the SR engine are ball/needle bearings they only require a low oil pressure feed. I am not sure of the exact oil pressure but think it is normally about 8 - 10psi on the feed side and it should be around the same on the scavenge / tank return side. Therefore the chances of blowing off an oil line are very remote even with worm drive clamps. In 25 odd years of running an oilcoorer on my SR's I haven't even had a leak from a fitting even when I have forgotten to tighen up the hose clamp propperly.

No doubt there would've been an RC166/174 6-cyl on display at Motegi? How many of these are there left in the world I wonder (apart from the George Beale's replicas?). Many Monkey bikes on display? Rgdz CL

Heh, heh..I'll tell you next year... The sixes are unbelieveably loud! The Beale one 's are no exception of course...what a sound! I got Jim Redman's autograph on several things including a pic of my 350! I almost took my tank to him to have signed...but I couldn't bear to deface the tank..so I left it at home... SR

Well there was about 20 RC's all up ranging from the RC143 to ? it is a huge collection. A few RC GP bikes were in the resto room as well. Plenty of aussie representatives photo's hang on display from past GP performances, the collection of bikes is amazing. I dont think i would do it justice to spurt out model names etc I have about 500 pics from the day so will get them up soon as we can edit them. There was plenty of monkey bikes and DAX etc, one thing at Motegi is that there is bikes from all makers so not just Honda's. Very good car display of old Toyota s2000 (Yamaha headed eng etc . If any one needs to know how to get to Motegi just ask, it does need some local advise if travelling on the train and bus as there is limited buses etc and takes a while to get to.

Hey Stew,
Yea apparantly their was an air show when they opened Motegi several years back and they had a fatal crash by one or ?? of the stunt planes, aparantly several fatalities... (This is according to my friend from Honda who lives just near Motegi). If you plan to go to the collection Stew let me know if you need any advise how to do it, the Honda collection hall web site is lacking some vital info like that there is only two buses to catch and that they dont leave at a time that works well with a train transfer, so you need to know some stuff if doing it on the Shinkansen etc. By the way sorry to change this thread topic with talk of unrelated issues.... woops

In responce to section/question 2 of the original post.
As the SR is a full ball/needle bearing engine, the lubrication system is only a low pressure feed, about 7 - 10psi from memory in the feed side and probably lower on the return side. I have had an oil cooler fitted on my SR's for the last 20 odd years without any leaks from the oil lines, and I have only ever used push-on lines with worm screw hose clamps.
