I have been toying with another approach, which I would like people's opinion on. What about, instead of running a separate filter, I was to T piece the hose into the intake. I was thinking one could insert a short piece of 52 mm tube between the carby and the flash whacko K&N, and T-piece a bit of 19mm tube off that, then run a hose from there to the crankcase breather. Similar to the stock setup, but still using a K&N pod filter with air box removed if you get my drift. Would it work, or would the intake vacuum cause oil mist to be sucked out of the engine? Opinions please. Mick

On that note, you can actually get a K&N pod filter, with a spiggot on it to connect to the breather.

I saw it in one of the Japanese catalogues that specialise in SRs, but I'll try and get a part number for you and post it up here.

The catalogue I have shows it for 1,150 yen...but you'd need to get Taka's input for the place to get it...or someone else who can read Japanese... Try SR File #6... SR

Ok I found the part number for the K&N filter with the spigot. It's not on the K&N website though, I got it from the 06-07 Plot catalogue. Part # PKN234You might not be able to get it through the Australian K&N importer, but you can always email Taka at Dues in Sydney as he'll be able to get it for you. taka@deusexmachina.com.au

Excellent work. Exactly what I had in mind. Obviously no-one thinks there would be a problem with oil mist being sucked out of the engine. Mick
