I have the worst manual that I have ever seen for a motorcycle. No where does it tell me what the compression should be, it also does not tell me how to check the compression properly on a kick start only bike.
I have done it on cars, and other bikes, but with electric start.
Can anyone tell me what the compression should be, and how to properly check for compression? I did an initial reading using about four kicks, and came up with a number of 120. I have no idea on this bike if that is correct.

120 is good.
When I check for compresion I do exactly as you did - 4- 5 kicks. I don't have my manual with me, but I seem to reacal that 120 falls right within the range it's supposed to be.
does anyone out there have the specific range for curt?

THE CLYMER MANUAL LISTS 135-150PSI AS "NORMAL". IT STATES THAT IF SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN 135PSI, THEN ADD A TEASPOON OF OIL TO PROVE RINGS AND VALVES ARE SUSPECT, IE THE PSI READING INCRESES.
