Any tips or tricks removing this steering head bolt? A 22mm socket is too small and a 23mm socket seems too big. I tried cranking on it with a crescent wrench, (both ways) and this thing just won't loosen up, it just changes the angle of steer from L-R. I'm stuck

I'm sorry for the stupid question, but just to confirm, i'm going to crank this counter clockwise (from the rider's seat perspective)?
Once in a while I come across a bolt head that doesn't fit the "lefty loosey, righty tighty" rule. For example the bolt that holds the blade in my miter saw.
I'll try the 7/8s socket and a big arse breaker bar. thanks.

Update: I got great advice from modrocker to heat up the bolt with a heat source, and tap it with a mallet or hammer with a piece of wood in between. Well after using a propane torch and hammer I was finally able to loosen the bolt and can move on with the project.
Thanks modrocker!!
