Do any of you guys have experience with YSS suspension? I just came across a US distributor who wants a 5h1tload of money for a set. ($550+!) I'm just curious if they're worth it. I looks like they are connected to some kind of suspesion guru from Aus.

They are made in thailand, they are good and have good warranty but the price seems excessive, are they the up spec piggy backs with H&L speed comp and rebound for that money? as the Koni copies are only about $200 aussie, the importer here is offline racing in South Australia. regards Carl.

I was just curious. They say you get what you pay for, I just don't want to pay for some unknown item. On their website they have a set listed as high spec racing stuff (SR specific- item code RZ366 320 TRL 47) but I was hoping to get some feedback before I invest. I don't really like the piggy back style, these are a classic style with gas internals. I'll be interested to hear more when the importer is available for comment. Thanks for the reply Carl!

I have been working with GMD Computrack Atlanta (www.gmdcomputrack.com) on some custom shocks for the Triumph Bonneville/Thruxton. If you're a racer then you know who these guys are. The shocks have been made to order by Pro-formance Shocks (www.proshocks.com). The work that we have done on the Bonneville should be transferrable to the dual-shock set-up of the SR500. I will send them a set of stock SR500 shocks to test on the dyno and then get a set made. They should be about $500 a set. Let me know if you're interested and we might be able to get a quantity discount.
On the subject of YSS shocks, I spoke with GMD about them because we were considering them for the Bonneville. They said that the design looks good, but that they have never worked on a set. If you get a set and then want to have Race-Tech Gold Valves put in them, I can probably get GMD to do it at cost. They even recommend rebuilding Ohlins for the best performance.
In my opinion, for optimal performance, suspension is the best place to spend your money.
