hi guys
i need to have my fork stanchions re chromed as they are badly pitted...can anyone recomend a company in aust that can help...or other model fork stanchions i should look for as replacments.....thanks for any help!!

Hi,
There is a company in Adelaide, that have been recommended to me as doing good work, cost about $100 per fork leg to get done. You should be able to find someone closer to you by just searching the net for "Hardchrome" as there are lots of companies that redo/overhaul hydraulic ram and it is these companies that can do fork tubes.

XS650 fork legs from '77 on are the same part number.

There was a bloke at the York Peninsula field days promoting his hard chroming business. He ahd a before and after example of a fork leg restoration. he was telling me that he could machine the worst of the pits out of a leg, then build it back to the right diameter with hardchrome. The example he had certainly looked good to me. www.hardchromeservices.com.auThey are in camden park in Adelaide 08 8295 2822 I have never had any work done, but like I said their workl looked pretty good.
