Hi christoph, my dirttracker has been converted to monoshock, but it is the old style non linkage cantilever type. As it is setup it only has about 2.5 inches of travel, which is ideal on a dirttrack bike, but probably not practical on a road bike. Wheelbase is about one inch shorter than stock sr, but overall height is reduced. As the whole thing was designed purely as a dirttrack bike it works really well, improving handling over the twin shocker by about 500 percent, but i believe this system would have some serious shortcomings as a road bike. Cheers Franky b.

Hi,
I am doing a monoshock conversion on the TT500 that I building up as a Supermotad using the shock and swingarm from a 1990's XT350 trail bike. I have not finished making the mountings for the uper mount for the shock or the lower linkage mount but it so far it has not been to difficult. However I am removing and repositioning the lower rear engine mounting/frame member to allow the bottom linkage mounts to be positioned correctly.
Keep in mind that this is on a TT frame which is a bit different to the SR frame. The hard part is going to be making up an airbox and getting ot connected to the carbie as the shockie takes up a lot of room in this area.
This bike is a long term project 6 years in the making and counting, so it will not be on the road real soon., but if I get time to drag it out from the pile of other projects over the weekend, I will post a picture of two on Monday.
