Seems I saw this here somewhere but can't find it...
Someone had soaked his cush drive rubbers in a liquid that rejuvenated them back to original size and pliability. Any suggestions?

Hi Miker Think when the rubber has gone, it don't come back, just soaking in some liquid. My tight budget forced me to make some 0,5 mm alu. pieces to take up play in my crush drive.

Wherever I saw it, the guy had soaked them a couple weeks and they actually expanded and tightened his cush drive up. What the liquid did was replace the liquid that had slowly vaporized off over the years. Heck, I'll buy new cush rubbers if I can - where are they available? I saw a set on ebay once... once... miker

Hi Brake fluid makes rubber expand ,I had a leaky power steering pump on my Van ,the seals were getting old. A old mechanic guy I know told me this old trick. mix about 25% of brake fluid with the hydraulic oil it makes the seals swell ,worked a treet after a day or so ,takes a little time to work . The steering pump hasnt leaked a drop since ,3 years on This trick also works on fork seals too Try soaking your cushdrive rubbers LURCH
