I was trying to save a buck by mounting my new tires on my 78 SR-500 myself and you guessed it I pinched one(rear tire) So My question is is it considered safe to patch a tube on a bike? This SR is used mostly around town, and if on the road usually under 60 mph. Or is it best to bite the bullet on Monday and but a new tube. Thanks John B

When using a good quality patch kit and by following the correct installation procedure, patching a tube can be very successful. However, if you have to buy the patch supplies, and maybe are not too experienced at patching, a good quality tube these days is usually pretty cheap and saves some messing around.
