Hi TC, I have on other bikes...it's not difficult to do. You need to make up...machine up...extensions for the tubing stands and cut the originals in a position where they run straight. Then have the extensions welded in....make sure you keep the correct orientation of the feet etc. and check to see if the longer stand hits other things when retracted as well. Some sidestands, like the early E and F SR's etc. are forged...these are more problematic. Look around for the later tubular types in that case...and do as above. SR

...one other thing I forgot to say...I use solid weld-in extensions with a spigot at each end to suit the inside diameter of the tubing...makes the whole thing easier to align and is stronger as well. SR

Hi TC, Unless the stand has been changed the E and F models were forged steel. Try for a tubular G or H model stand. You'll see the difference easily. SR

SR I have pulled the stand off my bike and it is tubular so that makes a bit easier did you use solid slugs to fit in side of stand ? Thanks tc

Hi TC, Yes, I machined up solid spacers with a spigot just large enough to fit inside of the tubes on each end. I also drilled a hole through them as well for 'lightness' ...heh, heh...can't help myself... Position the stand ends correctly either side then weld (...or have welded) away. Tig is best although Mig would also do. SR

No worries...cut then in an area where it is straight. SR
