So, I'm not diggin' the riding position of the drag bars on my '79 combined with the LSL rearsets. It feels weird, like I should be out over the front end more. So, I'm going to change out to either clubmans or clipons (I have a nice set of aluminum 35mm clipons already). Any thoughts guys? I'd like to not have to buy new shorter cables if possible. Which option works best with the stock cable lengths? Thanks!

Hop... I've gone from drag bars to clubmans and like it a lot better too. Clip-ons were 1st choice but couldn't get them where they need to be "comfort-wise" because they collided with the tank sides. Eventually I want to build an Aluminum tank with "cut outs for the clip ons, etc. Someday. Mitch
ps; you can route well enough with Clubmans to forego shorter cables, but they do help.

Well, I ordered the clubmans from MikesXS (thanks for the reminder about them pablos...). They look like the right fit. I'll report after the install.

That would have been cool. I rode out that way recently on my SV. Great ride. Haven't done the wine tasting thing yet... must remedy that soon!

Clubmans are really a poor mans clip-on. I just rerouted my cables, and made new brake lines and it worked fine.

I've used the later, the Z bend style. They still can have clearance problems. Mine are twisted down pretty low. I'll try and get a photo for you. Cables aren't as much of an issue as the brake hose, as stated above. I made the originals work tho. Mitch

I'm definitely loving my Clubmans. My friend let me try out a set of clip-ons and without a rear-set my back just couldn't take it. And I'm young...

I'm diggin' these! I went with a different set (just wasn't happy with the MikesXS ones), and here they are! Way better riding position, and just plain cooler than the drag bars ;D

They are hell cool Gaz ! I had a set similiar to them on my 78 way back in 79 I really liked them too . I never had the rearsets though (possibly didn't make them back then hehe) .On a long ride you could hold the throttle full on feet up on the rear footpegs she'd just do the ton. I've been checking out the rest of your bike , very nice indeed , a lot of hours & $ I bet ? Its the best SR I've seen to date (the gauntlet has been thrown) . Well done from Dave .

Clubmans look great Gary.
I love clubmans and the extra chrome they throw up around the gauges. Also you have more adjustability in them if you need too.
