A few posts have seen people chasing wire wheels, or disk brake hub assemblies for the front wheel of our SR's, so I was thinking if anyone has considered fitting Virago parts.
I'm assuming because they've never been mentioned that they may not be suitable. They wouldn't work as a straight front end replacement because of the rake of the head and the length of the forks probably, but the wheel and brake assembly may be suitable.
Front wheel on the newer ones is listed as 110/90- V18, rear as a 130/90-V15
They're heaps of them in the wreckers, and they're cheap as chips, so I was wondering if anyone had tried using this a source.
I'm going to take my tape measure to the wreckers on the weekend and have a think.....

measure away and let us know.I think you may be onto a cheap alternative, disc brake front would be fairly straight forward swap.

To resurrect an old thread, I've wondered about this myself. Did you end up drawing any conclusions?

I didn't physically try it in the end, as I thought the 15inch rim with the fatter "chopper" style tyre didn't look quite right for me. Other than ensuring the correct wheel spacing, I think it swap pretty easily.
I need another SR to try it on ;D
The indicators, front disk, and other parts all look like the original SR parts.

I intend to give it a go at some point, as I want spoked wheels. I'll let you know how it goes.

Was the price mentioned, or do I have to walk across the road to Borders and read yet another of their bike magazines from cover to cover for free?!
