Hi.
Can anyone tell me how wide rear tire I can fit on my
stock SR? Would like to have a tire, as wide as possible.

Hi there,
The stock rear mag wheel is only a 2.15 width, and this is the real limiting factor on what width rear tyre you can fit. One of my tyre fit charts says 120 is the widest tyre you should fit onto a 2.15 rim and the other says 130. If you put too wide a tyre onto the rim you distort the profile of the tyre and end up with rapid waer and posible handling problems.
I have a 120 wide Bridgestone on the rear of my cafe racer (on a 2.5 rim) and it clears the chain guard ok, I dont know if a wider tyre would contact the chain guard though.

Hui, Yes, I feel that a 120 would be about it on a standard wheel. Looks plenty wide enough on a standard SR. SR  |
