Hi all, In my collection of SR's, I have the remains of a SR400, basically a frame with an engine fitted and a few ancillary bit. There is no model ID plate fitted to the frame just the stamped in frame number; 2H6-234585. The engine only has the model prefix 2H6 stamped onto it, without any serial number, however it shows no evidence of ever having been stripped down to have new crankcases fitted. I would like to determine what model year the bike is as I want to build it up into a complete bike for my daughter to ride. Here in Oz all vehicles must be fitted with a compliance plate which detail month/year of manufacture amoungst other details. I have been told that I can register the bike with out a compliance plate, but have to be able to prove what year / model it is. Any help with what year this bike was made and a good reason / explaination of the missing engine number would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Akira, Good to hear from you again. The new SR400's are finally coming 'down under' to Deus, despite the Govt's best efforts to slow them down. They're on the sea right now. Might have to get one of these...and a 500 crank from somewhere...heh, heh... SR
