Anyone know of a local Australian supplier who sells 520 conversion kits for the SR500?
I'm after 16/17 tooth front and 40/41/42/43/44 rear for racing.

Hi, Will the XT sprockets fit? I know that the front will, I think that the rear may also...520 size...chains are easily sorted...try a DID 520 MX or similar... SR  |

I'm going to try the XT sprockets. I'll take mine down to MCA and check they are the same pattern. I have a brand new RK race chain (1993 vintage) for my old Supersport 400 race bike that never got used due to early retirement!

to wizz,xt500 cush drive hub is identical to sr cast hub all parts are direct swap. tt500 hub has no cush drive but sprocket pattern is the same. from memory tt has a wider rim. why not just use an xt spoked wheel. start off whith a 15 tooth front and use 16 and 17 to change gearing.16/42 works ok at wakefield. 520 chain will handle tighter turn of 15 front ok. cheers franky b

Thanks Franky B. I'd like to convert to spoked wheels if lighter than the stock ones and a straight swap. My main concern is always how much fiddling is required to adapt brake calipers etc. to the new wheel as this is where time and money get sucked up! Any ideas where to try and get hold of XT wheels?
16/42 for Wakefield sounds about right, don't know where you would use a 15 front. I have bought some XT sprockets but noticed the XT rear sprockets have countersunk holes where the SR sprockets don't. Does that sound right to you?

Hi wizz, you are stuck with a rear drum on the xt/tt rear wheel, which isnt a drama on the tar.Early aircooled rd front wheels will fit as well, the discs are the same. I have a honda wheel 19 inch on adirttracker that an sr disc fits straight on, only difference is the bolts go from one side of the hub to the other. Re the sprockets, ive seen that before, i think they were drilled to cover other models besides the xt, just bolt them up with the countersinks in. Try wreckers for wheels, though xt gear is getting pricey. Iuse a 15/46 on short tracks and 16/46 on half miles, you get there quick but run out of bullets early. Hope this helps, cheers franky b.

FRONTS 2840216 - 16 TOOTH, 17 TOOTH ALSO AVAILABLE.
THE REARS ARE FROM A TTR 250, THE FRONTS ARE COMMON 520 SIZE FROM GSXR600/ZZR/ZXR600/FZR-YZF. HOPE THIS HELPS.
