I am attempting to convert my rear drum brake to a rear disc setup. I got the caliper and "attaching arm" off of ebay. What modifications do I need to do to attack the caliper to the frame? Also has anyone mounted the master cylinder and if you did, where did you mount it?

Hi, The caliper mount's anchor arm attaches to a welded on bracket on the top of the swingarm. Probably wouldn't be difficult to make a replica, however, in a way it might be easier to simply get a disc brake bike's swingarm...
Some of the earlier rear drum brake models came with the backing plate inverted so that they could use the same attaching point as the disc braked bikes...for ease of production I guess. They changed that on subsequent models.
If you wish I could send you a pic of the disc brake anchor bracket from one of my E models.

Hi Grambo, I'm gonna do the opposite to my '78. I've already got a swingarm and rear drum wheel. I could send pictures also of my rear disc.
