Hi.
Sjef...anyone...has anyone done any frame bracing on the standard SR frame to make it stiffer for better handling?
I have seen some stuff on the net about some SR's in Japan for racing. That was about what I thought of doing...but any other ideas at all?
I am also looking at having a light rectangular steel swing arm made as well (CrMo)...for length the Japanese seem to favour the longer arms...I wonder why? Styling?
It would seem to slow down the handling to me...unless you steepen up the head angle...
Lets hear about it...

Hallo Stew no personal experience with it except for hardtailing a sr frame. I know of sr frames stiffened for side car use, they have a tube(on both sides) from the front down tube till the tube in front of the airbox. The lengtened swingarm are used for chopper and hilclimbing purposes they give greater stability driving straight forward. If you want a light swingarm take one from the tt or one from Over. They can be custom made on customers request. regards sjef

Mark,
Thanks. I had seen these ones before...they are the only ones that I have seen that detail any frame bracing.
I reckon that I'll follow their lead, more or less. Most of it I had already intended to do...but good to see that someone else has the same ideas...makes you think that you're possibly on the right track.
Thanks again.
