Hi to all from barks,
Pleased to be a new member,I live in Sydney Australia, and have a passion for guitars , old valve stereo amplifiers, vintage watches ,beer ,friendly women, beer and friendly are a great mix.
After 25 or so years out of the saddle ,raising a son,and a separation, I'm ready to get back into street riding,my last bike was a rd 400 d ,had it registered as 250 sneaky like while I was on my L plates.
I,d been toying with the idea of a Ducati 620 monster, had a deposit on one but the deal fell through.
Tocut a long story short I seen a Sr 400 cafe racer in Lavender st car park North Sydney, I work as carpenter and do maintenance work and rebuilds in the building from time to time .
And thought to myself #@#@ ,I like what that guys done to it. My workmates and I, some of who ride were really impressed,
After trying ebay and every other web site to find a good Sr 400,/500, I gave up and bit the bullet and put some money down on a bog stock model from you guessed it Deus at Camperdown.
I plan to do the work myself, turning it into a Yamcati in Aussie flag blue, I really like the look of the( Ducati 750 ss these bikes in burnt orange look awsome) .And think the idea of cross Italian style and Japanese simplicity, will look pretty good,as a cafe racer.
I'm waiting to take delivery of one sometime toward the end of January,to mid February.
I look forward to getting to know you guys, I will be looking for some advice while building it. When this Luddite works out how to upload pictures I will. Thanks for the site great work.
Bye for now barks.
P.S. And to the guy who parks his Sr at the back of 16 Lavender St ,North Sydney.thank you for the inspiration to rebuild a bike the way I want, and not just chuck some money at a salesman, for a ready built 620 Monster(nice bike that they are) Hope to catch up with you one day,I ow you a beer or two thanks barks
