WELCOME TO THE SR500 FORUM!
Glad to have you here.
All great bikes. But really, on the SR500 Forum what way do you expect we will steer you...
SR500 MAN! ;D ;D ;D
LOL! Good luck in your search.

If you prefer one pair of valves and one exhaust pipe on your singles, the SR500 is the obvious choice.
I have a book where they had this to say about the GB500: "The GB500 looks very much the part of a Sixties British racer. Even the 500-cc vertical twin with two-into-one header would strike a chord..." You'd think they'd know it's a single!

Like G-man says...those on this forum will trumpet the SR500. I've owned an SR500 for 27 years and it still puts a big goofy grin on my face when I go riding, and there's tons of cool aftermarket stuff for the SR. But, I've always wanted an SRX600 as well.

i like the gb500, but my main concern is that i dont know much about fixing bikes and because of its rarity i think it would be hard to get parts.
are parts and aftermarket parts more available for the sr500 than the srx600? anyone know?

Hey welcome to the site dont know much about aftermarket stuff for the other bikes but the list of stuff for the SR is huge. Just depends on how big your wallet is to how many of these goodies you can stuff into your bike.

Get a SR as you can get anything for them . You can even buy a fairly new SR400 but that may depend on where you live on this planet as for the availability . They look the same to me & cost about $10k Aus . I thought the Honda was a FT500( electric start too) . Royal Enfield do a 500 single too but I'll stick with the Yammy any day cheers Dave.

Welcome mate...SR500! I like the GB as well of course...but the SR is the go, and plenty of parts in the World to last 'till you're old and grey. SR

I think when you decide to buy any of these bikes, you're making an emotional choice so other people's opinions (or even logical ones) aren't really that important. Go for what makes you grin the most, I reckon. But make sure it's a Yamaha! . . . . . . LOL,

Mate all you gotta do is make her think it was (or is ) her idea & your laughin ? But thats the hard trick! Try earphones whilst she's asleep , Something like let my husband have a SR500(maybe 2) and he'll treat me like the princess I am forever ! It may just work cheers Dave.
