Picked up my sr yesterday. I owned one in 1980 but almost gave it away to get a gpz. Now I am older wiser and poorer after spending aprx the same amount to buy a29year old bike for what I paid for my 78sr in 80. I look forward to fiddling with it till winter and then major cosmetics to make it unique. Keep this site active I need lots of imput.

Thats a coincidence I sold my 78 SR for peanuts to buy a GPz also (what were we thinking?) Lucky for me I only paid peanuts the 2nd time around for my 82 SR . I would like a Z1B though.? Welcome aboard cheers Dave .

WELCOME TO THE SR500 FORUM!
Glad to have you here! Inflation and enough time does raise the price of the bikes back up to where they were originally, even greater sometimes. I'm finding this out myself in my quest for some of the old rides I used to own...
Take care, G Man

I'm finding this out myself in my quest for some of the old rides I used to own... At $2600 I think I just paid about $1000 more than I could have bought it new in 1978, of course with 13,000 miles on it it still is pretty "new". If I could only find that Moto Guzzi V7 Sport I used to own ...
