Hi.
I´d just joined this forum and want to introduce myself.
I´m 47 years old and live in Sweden.
The history is long and goes like this:
In 1981 I bought an hardly used 1980 SR500.
Thru the years I tuned it heavy and it ended up with a displacement of 640 cc, a Dell´Orto 40 and custom made exhaust in stainless steel. It ran real well, when it held together that is...
In 1987 when me and my growing family bought a house the SR came along and was placed (in pieces) on a box in a room in the basement. I didn´t really touch it during these years, just knowing that one day... ;D
7 years later my som wanted to ride with me and it inspired me to assemble the bike and to start it up again.
The feeling was somehow changed, my wife couldn´t ride with me and I couldn´t get myself to ride an leave her alone with the kids so I decided to sell it after owning in for 13 years.
I will put in some pictures of it as soon as I have scanned them.
I held back some of the urge for riding bikes till the year of 2000 when I bought this: web.telia.com/~u41816991/
As you may see there are some modifications I made to make the bike a little more like I wanted it to look.
I rode it for 6 years, with much joy, but in the end of 2005 I felt finished with all the modifications and sold it in the beginning of the summer of 2006.
One reason for selling it was that I had bought this car before and my time wasn´t enough for both the house, family, a bike anda a car so the bike went away...
The Cad´ is a nice driver and there is space enough for the family and a bunch of friends to join the ride but it aint like riding a bike.
I may end up as an SR owner again but until then I will lurk around and get the feeling for what kind of bikes and mod´s that
are going now, and what´s have been done during my years whithout my SR...
