Just found your site courtesy of the SR500 Club Aust. I, like the majority of 500 yamaha nut and have a few more that I realy can justify. I still have my original 1978 SR500 which I bought s/hand in 1980, although it is now a faily radical cafe' racer. My daily transport is a basically stock '78 SR that I built out of parts. In the collection I also have a fairly original '76 TT, a home built Aberg replica, ie. a SR500 engine in a 1978 Husqvarna MX chassis, a '76 XT in the process of a major rebuild, a SR/TT hybrid that is being built up as a Supermotad, a SR that is being built as a classic road racer, plus the remaims of a SR500, a SR400 and a TT500. So I agree with most, 500 yamahas are an incurable disease. An that is not to mention the collection of 17 early 1960's/early 70's hondas and and other bikes that at last count came to more than 30.

Hey Colin welcome aboard, We should get together sometime, since Port Pirie is just a nice 1 hour or less blast up the road from Clare through some nice country. Have been meaning to try out those nice sweeping bends leading in to Yacka, and to see how fast I can punt the old girl through Narridy. Love to check out your collection sometime. Gotta love 60/70's Hondas. In my opinion the release of the honda four must be about the most significant milestone in the history of motorcycling. I am hot on the trail of a 7000km '83 XT500, complete but faded, 1000 aussie dollars, so it would be cool to hook up with someone who knows what a restored one should really look like. Good to see another South Oz member anyway. Regards, Mick
