Hello everyone!
After ten years of skinning my knuckles on a '54 BSA B-33, it is time to start restoring a '78 sr-500.
I live in Norway, and find this forum very interesting, and hope to share my new interest with you people.
Regards! ;D

Hi, I think that you'll find the SR much simpler and probably a little easier to get parts for as well... One day I'd really love to get my hands on a DBD34...I guess I've had life too easy...heh, heh... Welcome... SR

Thank you for warm welcome guys!
stewross.....would you possibly be the man featured in Classic Bike a few years ago? In any case two fantastic sr's.
When it comes to parts I have done some research, and found that the german company Kedo, have all the parts and accesories I need.
Although DBD-34's are very well catered for. But feel that I'm finished with BSA's for a while. Like the sr for it's size, looks, of course one cylinder, and hopefully reliability. Hopefully I can jump on the bike next summer on impuls without getting oily up to my eye brows. ;D

Hi christer, Yes that was my back cafe racer, the other bike belonged to another guy, Dean. I was living in Adelaide in South Aust then...It was good to get a bike into the Classic Bike mag. You'll really love the SR...easy to live with in all ways. Look forward to seeing pics of it as it goes along. SR

I will post pictures as it goes along. I will start the restoration in the opposite way than I have done before. Cosmetics first, and so on. Engine is good to go and in stock condition, so I will only perform mods to carburation/air filter. Maybe other mods comes along. Hoping to learn more about the sr through the process and through this forum.
Regards

Great, look forward to it. Your E models had wire wheels and a rear drum didn't they? SR

Don't know what model I have. But it is imported from the US to Norway. Disc break in the back and cast wheels. Will post pictures tonight. Have seen some nice bikes with this configuration in kind of light "cofee-racer" trim.
