I have ordered some stuff for my SR.
I am getting the chrome Daytona headlight with the speedo inside...just like my little Ducati...the brackets, bullet blinkers and cafe'd top triple clamp.
All of this stuff, from what I've seen, is of a very high quality and fits straight on. I guess that is the benefit of having been around for a long while. I feel the prices are pretty good as well.
I'll let you know how much playing around there is in fitting these to a standard bike..and wiring loom. The bits are due in in Feb sometime...

Hello SR500 FANS I´M RAFAEL FROM GUATEMALA. I have a SR500 its an excellent motorcycle, for several months it has come to me trumping the system of starter and I have not managed to stabilize yet it, for which I took her to the mechanic and it has told me that the plant of starter was burned. now I have the problem that the agency yamaha already neither produces it does not even export the pieces of SR. to my country, and I could not have found the restored one in any side, not even of the second hand. the mechanic recommended to me to do the system change of ignition, of transistor to platinium this would be SR. exchange to being TT. That you advise me will be a good option or that happens if I rewind the original plant. greetings of guatemala and in the next days there will be a very important event for my country, it is the caravan of the fox "CARAVANA DEL ZORRO" where there take part peoples of all parts of the world. I will not be able to help because my SR. I do not have it in good conditions. Greetings. RAFAELG

My much awaited Daytona headlight has arrived at Deus...at last...now to drive the 180kms to Sydney tomorrow to pick it and a few other bits up.
I will let you know how hard it was to fit...and whether all of the wiring fits in the headlight together with the speedo as well...
I am also fitting Daytona clip-ons and headlight brackets with it...

Just arrived back with the headlight and some sundry other bits...nice stuff this Daytona gear. Well made and nicely finished. I also had a Wellington kickstart lever put away for me and ordered a Daytona top triple clamp...
Deus was full of people...as well as the coffee shop attached...still no SR 400's...govt. paperwork issues...should be there soon though...and then the SR's, W650's etc. will flow...
There were quite a few bikes on display including a number of SR cafe racers...I'll post some pics soon, although my computer is really getting very tired. Time to upgrade I feel.

Hi, I have just fitted a new headlight, headlight brackets, clip-on bars, small speedo etc. that I recently bought from Deus. They are Japanese Daytona parts and are beautifully finished. The chrome is excellent and the parts fit with a minimum of fuss. The one thing that I'd dreaded, which was the fit of the wiring into the headlight, was not problem at all. In fact there's more room in the small headlight I fitted, that in the 8" one I had removed. I also had a small Drag Specialties tacho sitting around, so I took the opportunity to fit it to the bike at the same time. The bars and headlight brackets are very robust and they clamp up tightly. You can get several different types of headlight brackets; straight and angled, alloy and chromed steel. I chose the angled steel ones. I also swapped the clutch and decompressor lever assembly for a genuine one from a Honda XR 650. I believe that there are also aftermarket ones of these available. That would be a much cheaper option to using the genuine parts. The new levers are required because the original decompressor cable runs straight into the fork leg and the headlight bracket. Sometimes you can get away with putting a severe bend on the cable and using the original levers; this time you can't. You must also drill out the hole in the lever stand-off on the Honda bracket, to accept the larger Yamaha decompressor cable end, and use the original steel clutch cable adjuster. If you align the bracket to the drill carefully there won't be a problem. I used my pedestal drill. I also sanded and polished an aftermarket SR type brake lever to match the Honda clutch lever for looks.
You lose the left mirror doing this the way I did, due to the lack of a suitable mount for the large threaded SR mirror. The original XR standoff does come with a mirror mount made into the rear clamp half. However I had used a rear clamp half from a CRF that didn't have this feature. There is still enough room on the left bar for a separate clamp to accept the SR mirror if so desired...however this would entail manufacturing a clamp to suit. Not hard... The speedo mounted into the headlight very tidily; the headlight is very similar (...well more or less a copy) of an Italian Aprilia one from an early Ducati single. You need to buy the mounting kit for the speedo as well...unless you want to go to the trouble of making your own; not really that difficult. I used an O ring between the headlight and the instrument for better vibration isolation. A simple task. I took the power for the light in the tacho and the speedo from the wire that used to power the park light. Very easy. I really like the look of the changes I have made and feel that it suits the bike well. I had previously fitted the blinkers, which are nice and small and very bright. The bike now looks lower, longer and narrower, and the headlight is very bright on both high and low beams. I love it. SR
