Lads and Ladies, me and a mate are off to the Welsh borders this weekend for 2 nights. We will be meeting up with a few more XTs and perhaps a few SRs plus other bikers. Itβs nothing formal but the meet-up is at the Baskerville Hall, Clyro near Hay on Wye. If anyone on this side of the pond fancies coming over please feel free, I will add that although local accommodation is available (surf the net) there is a great camping field for you hardy types π³. Iβm staying nearby on a farm with self catering accommodationβ¦.and a proper bed. This particular part of the Welsh border is stunning with lots of views of the Wye Valley. All short notice I know but the weather is looking promising so if it fitsβ¦.do it.
Iβll attempt to put some pics on when I get back and give you the heads up for perhaps next year π. More later.

To be honest Steve it wasnβt the best π¬. Couldnβt get accommodation at Baskerville Hall we were staying a few miles away and the access along a very dodgy country track was iffy to say the least, digs were very basic but cheapish. Gotta take most of the blame β¦I booked it π³. Having done the Hay trip numerous times over the years this was one trip too many and got seriously soaked around Worcestershire on the way back π§. Talk about add insult to injury but the upside? my bike ran well .

That's our glorious summer weather for you: Unreliable. Slithering along country lanes swerving as much animal droppings as you could no doubt.... sounds like you both needed hosing down once you were home.
Reminds me of a very wet trip to Porthcawl of many moons ago. One by one all the bikes except mine dropped out of our group in the sharp downpours. I was the only one to make it all the way there and back on two wheels. (Other bikes were loaded into a van that one chap drove with us.) Got through a whole can of WD that weekend. Happy days!

Steve, the rain was bouncing off the road and completely washed all the wd40 off the chain, as much as I like using wd I reckon chain wax/grease would have been better in those conditions π.

red, thanks. I just might give this a go, itβs not gonna break the bank and Iβm looking at making the fitting as discreet as possible.

I welded a tab on my swingarm for the delivery bracket and mounted the reservoir under my butt. I used to always fill up with gas, get on the road, and remember I forgot to oil my chain. Now I smile, reach down, give the cap a quarter turn, done.
